Blackhat I – Vintage Hot Stratocaster HSS

The perfect balance for any Rock guitarist
who wants a Vintage Hot set with a humbucker in the bridge.

Blackhat HSS sets are for the player who wants a little more output from their strat or superstrat in general, with a humbucking pickup in the bridge.

To create this set we wound vintage voiced version of our PAF style humbuckers into the bridge position. With the correct 53mm F Spacing to ensure correct pole screw alignment on Fender style guitars, the humbucker is matched or calibrated with the single coils to ensure even volume across all switch positions.

Blackhat sets are wound with heavy vintage spec wire in the neck and middle positions, and 42 gauge Plain Enamel in the bridge humbucker. We install as standard 4 wire on the bridge humbucker of all HSS sets as this allows a number of interesting switching options to be used.

We currently have two variants,  Blackhat I’s or Blackhat II’s.
