Deacci customer Ole installed his new Vintage One pickups in his Gibson R8 and after a quick test run he was kind enough to send us his first impressions along with some pics – enjoy!

Installed the pickups in my R8 late last night and got to check them out through my TwoRock Jet 22 amp this morning.

I am REALLY pleased with the first impression these pickups left. First thing that popped up in my head was that these have got a little bit of everything you would want in a low/mid output pickup: enough honk, sparkly high end, a pleasing but not overpowering mid, a solid bottom and a lot of openness (especially when rolling back the volume).

I have tried out my share of both “big name” and boutique pickups and in my opinion most do one or two things well but then lose out on the rest. Nice honk brings along mudiness, sparkly/airy top often renders the pickup a little weak and anemic. I have rarely come across such a complete package in one pickup.
